Northern & Scotland Hub Edinburgh Event

The Scottish and Northern regional hub held their annual face-to-face meeting on the 16th June, which this year was generously hosted by Fettes College. There was a packed agenda, derived from hub school requests, with items on the new EE guide and the interdisciplinary essay, the challenges and opportunities of AI for students and teachers, and the CP in a variety of contexts and effective innovations in the CP curriculum design.

These sessions were led by hub member schools, which was a great opportunity to share best practice and engage in productive discussion to support our programmes' development. Thanks to all who contributed to and led these sessions during the day. The nature of a hub meeting, with smaller numbers, meant that colleagues were also able to take part in detailed round-table discussions on the May 2025 exam series, the use of the recently produced marketing video and clips, and future potential marketing research activities as well as receiving briefings from Richard Markham, CEO, on IBSCA's recent work.

The Scottish and Northern hub will continue to evolve in 25/26 and it is hoped that next year, the hub will begin to act as a facilitator to connect schools for subject-based teacher support, particularly for single teacher departments. If any schools are interested in joining the Scottish and Northern hub, or indeed one of the other regional hubs, then do get in contact via IBSCA.
