Open to educators from IBSCA member schools, our free Seminar series provides an in-depth look at some of the key topics and challenges facing our IB community.
The event is open to Heads of Department, as well as experienced IB History educators preparing for the delivery of the new guide from September 2026.
Seminar Description:
An interactive seminar for those who have reviewed the new syllabus and are looking for a chance to collaborate with others as they plan their course for September. It will be an opportunity to discuss the changes in detail, paper by paper, but also as a whole. Areas to be discussed, include:
How much stays the same?
Are there areas of content that need to change for your school?
How does the delivery of material need to change?
How does it link to students’ prior experience in your context (GCSE, IGCSE, MYP)?
What opportunities are available for cross-curricular collaboration/cross over?
What tips and trips have you identified?
This will be a collaborative session, please come preprared to share your school’s approaches and ideas to guide delivery.

3-hour seminar delivered virtually making access easy and convenient.
Led by an experienced IB educator who is part of the IBEN network.
Limited to one registration per IBSCA member school. There are a limited number of spaces available, if sufficient interest is expressed a second date may be opened or additional spaces added.
Offered free as a benefit of IBSCA membership.

The History: planning for the new guide seminar will be delivered by experienced IB History educator and IBEN, Anna Fielding. Anna has been teaching IB History for 13 years. Alongside this she has been CAS Coordinator and, for the past 5 years, IB Diploma Coordinator. She has been leading IB workshops for 2 years and has been an Examiner and IA moderator.
