Save the IB
On the 1st of October 2025, the government announced it would be cutting Large Programme Uplift (LPU) funding from state-funded schools and colleges in England, including funding for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The decision to cut LPU funding was made without consulting school and college leaders, and without regard for the impact that a reduction in available academic pathways will have on the affected communities. IBSCA stands with our school and college members by actively seeking an immediate and full reversal of the government’s decision.
Join us in overturning this disastrous decision and help to secure the future of the IBDP for future generations. Discover how you can take action below.
“Supporting the IB in the state sector keeps horizons open for students and shows that the government respects breadth and choice in the education system…”
Richard Markham, CEO, IBSCA
