Open to educators from IBSCA member schools, our free Seminar series provides an in-depth look at some of the key topics and challenges facing our IB community.
The event is open to IB educators responsible for the delivery of Mandarin B in their IB settings, as well as Heads of Department.
Seminar Description:
This event will be a facilitated conversation on the Mandarin B guide, and specifically challenges schools are facing with delivery. The conversation will cover:
Paper 1 (writing): How do we teach text types effectively? How do we help students develop ideas and meet the criteria?
Paper 2 (Reading & Listening): Which question types are hardest for students? How can we scaffold exam skills?
Internal Assessment (Individual Oral): How do we prepare students for the IO? How do we choose stimuli and guide cultural links?
As this event is a conversation among collagues, participants will be expected to actively engage and share their experiences of guide delivery. Key outcomes and actions of the conversation will be noted to help IBSCA further develop its support for schools delivering Mandarin B as part of their IB programme.
