Workshop Summary:
The overall purpose of the workshop is to strengthen your understanding of the IB Diploma Programme, including philosophical and administrative principles, to best support momentum and maximise student attainment. A goal of the workshop is to define and discuss the role of the IB counsellor and learn strategies to support the effectiveness of the counsellor working with IB students.
This workshop will enable you to:
Understand IB philosophy, IB terms and acronyms, core components and the value of IB for student educational preparation and post-secondary success.
Fully support students, communicate the programme to relevant stakeholders and identify strategies to support the implementation and/or evolution of the DP within a range of school systems and contexts.
Keep up-to-date on changes in the DP and articulate the outcomes to properly advise students towards diploma attainment and post-secondary options.
Explore current trends in post-secondary options and access.
Deploy strategies to effectively communicate with universities.

Category 2 workshops focus on programme delivery. They emphasize assessment, teaching and learning methodologies, and exploring best practice in the classroom. The goals of these workshops are to enhance the understanding of the IB philosophy and programme model and improve the quality of programme delivery. Participants will:
make connections between the programme framework and practice
enhance their understanding of the role of assessment in IB programmes
discuss and analyze standards and practices appropriate to their role
