Insights into UK May 2023 exam performance

IBSCA held the first 'briefing' session of the academic year on 11th September, when we were joined by Richard Penrose to share insights into the May 2023 IB results.  We were joined by delegates from 30 schools and those present were fortunate to hear from Richard about global trends and UK specific performance in the most recent examination series.

If you are an IBSCA member and were unable to attend, but would like access to the slides from the briefing please contact us.

The discussion focused chiefly upon:

  • The moderation process for internal Assessments

  • EURs

  • UK and Global trends

A number of questions were raised during the meeting and Richard Penrose has kindly agreed to look into a number of issues. As ever, if schools have particular points concerning their own examination results they should raise these with their IB World Schools Manager and IB Support.  We will keep members updated on the outcome of further discussions with Richard and the Assessment team at the IB.
