Established in 1896, Westbourne has a reputation for academic excellence spanning over 100 years. Offering the options of home stay, boarding and day school, pupils and students at Westbourne have a wide range of options available to suit their preferred way of living. Teaching pupils and students aged 3-18, Westbourne School operates across two sites with the Junior School and combined Senior School and Sixth Form sites home to a total school roll of almost 200. Every year, the top 30-50% of GCSE pupils gain between 10 and 15 A*-A grades. In 2007, Westbourne was ranked in the Top 5 in the UK by The Independent newspaper for GCSE results. An IB World School since September 2008, Westbourne is proud of the success it has seen over the last three years at Diploma level. With small classes, individual mentors and a warm and friendly atmosphere, students are well-motivated to succeed. Situated in the picturesque, quiet town of Penarth in the heart of South Wales, Westbourne is only a short distance from both the vibrant capital city of Cardiff and the bustling marinas of Cardiff and Penarth.
