Gresham’s is a co-educational day and boarding school situated about 4 miles from the award-winning north Norfolk coast, in one of the most beautiful parts of England. The school enjoys a spacious setting of 200 acres including 50 acres of woodland. It offers excellence in a wide range of fields, from which pupils gain an outstanding, all-round education. The school became an IB school in 2007 and the IB Diploma Programme is now well established.
In 2016, the school underwent an ISI Inspection where it was awarded an Excellent rating across all nine categories, in all three schools which is testament to our progressive academic curriculum, high quality teaching and excellent pastoral care. The school has a strong commitment to providing first-class facilities for its pupils which will see the introduction of a new Music School and Sixth Form Centre by April 2017 as well as improvements to some of our boarding houses at the Prep and Senior School.
Our exam results are excellent. In 2015, our IB Diploma pupils achieved an average score of 34 points, 5 points above the worldwide average. Five pupils scored 40 points and above, achieved by only 4% globally and one pupil gained a top score of 44 points, which is equivalent to 5A*s. We consistently send around 95% of our Upper Sixth leavers to university, most of whom go on to study their first-choice courses.
Our alumni, known as Old Greshamians, have been inspiring our pupils for generations from composer Sir Benjamin Britten, poet W.H. Auden to British inventor and founder of the Dyson Company, Sir James Dyson.
At Gresham’s, pupils contribute to excellence in a vast range of activities and disciplines including drama, sports, art, music, Duke of Edinburgh and the Combined Cadet Force. Our positive environment boosts confidence, happiness, self-esteem and well-being allowing our pupils to develop into well-rounded, self-assured adults able to manage the demands of modern life.
