We would be delighted if you could join us for a meal on the evening of Friday 10th November. Drinks will be served from 7.30pm at Fettes College and dinner will then be served in the dining hall from 8pm.
When registering for the conference and dinner it would be most helpful if you could indicate any special dietary requirements.
Registration will be in the reception at Fettes College from 9am. The general programme for the day is below. There will be some separate sessions for those applicant schools wanting more information about the IB and authorisation process, as well as a session on applications to US Universities for careers advisors. A large number of universities have been invited from both Scotland and northern England and it is hoped that the afternoon ‘universities fair’ will be of great benefit to both sides. There will then be plenary session in which admissions officers will have the chance to ask and answer questions.
Following the meeting, tea will be available on the Saturday afternoon. For those of you staying in Edinburgh on the Saturday night there are some suggested links below about events and entertainment. In addition, some of the Fettes staff will be happy to lead an evening’s exploration of some Scottish hostelries and local culture!

Dear Colleagues
I should like to invite you to the 2006 IBSCA Conference on Friday 16 June from 09.00 at the Barber Surgeons’ Hall, London, EC2. IBSCA member schools will have priority booking but places will be available for schools joining the programmes or expressing an interest. We are very pleased that our principal speakers will be Professor John West-Burnham (National College for School Leadership - NCSL) and Jeffrey Beard (Director General of the IBO), with a closing address by George Walker the former IBO Director General.
The conference and workshops are designed for Heads of current and prospective IB schools and tickets are limited. If you would like to send a second delegate please complete two booking forms, highlighting the name of the first choice delegate, and we will try to accommodate your request.
The cost per delegate is £110 for IBSCA members and £150 for non-members. This will include lunch and other light refreshments. Full details of the programme are attached with the booking form, which should be completed and returned no later than 2 June to Camilla Holland at the address shown on the form. Please give your email address when you reply so that we can confirm your booking.
I look forward to seeing you at the conference. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the arrangements please contact Camilla Holland my assistant (cho@southbank.org).
